Okay, folks....it's that time of the year again! We had so much fun and such a great turn out at last years Blocktoberfest, that people were asking if we were gonna have it again this year! The answer is a resounding YES!!!

So here's the details: 

Bring a dish or something to throw on the grill and something that you like to drink. We are going to be be cooking up some pulled pork and we will see what else turns up!

At 2 PM, we will have a quick cooks meeting to go over the rules for the Backyard BBQ Contest. We will be having a Burger Cook-off this year and would like to encourage as many people as possible to come and cook your best burger for a chance to win some $$ Cool Cash $$. Entry fee will be $10 with 100% payout. Call Jay if you want to signup....it's gonna be a blast!

Dinner will be served at 5 PM. There will be tables setup on the side of the street and last year they were just filled with food! Bring a dish to pass along and whatever you like to drink. This is a family friendly event.

Blocktoberfest Backyard BBQ Competition

Think you have what it takes to be crowned Blocktoberfest Grillmeister? Then join us for a friendly backyard BBQ competition. We will be cooking chicken (Cook's choice of cut...can also be Cornish Game Hen) out on the street using whatever cooker you have. A Cabela's gift card and bragging rights are on the line for the winner! Entry fee will be $20 and signup is by October 9th. Minimum of 5 teams to compete.

• 12:00 PM Team sign in.
• 12:30 PM Cook's meeting, review the rules, meat inspection.
• 1:00 PM Cooking may begin.
• 4:00 PM Chicken Turn In and Judging begins.
• 4:45 PM Award presentation.

Meat must be packaged in original packaging and cannot be marinated, injected, brined or seasoned in any way until after meat inspection.

1st Annual Blocktoberfest

We will be holding the 1st Annual Blocktoberfest on Saturday, October 15th, 2011!!!

This will be a block party and backyard BBQ competition for the local neighborhood.

The streets will be blocked off to provide a safe atmosphere for children and adults alike.
